ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE POST
of research and teaching assistant
At the Department of Spatial Planning, Urban and Rural Design
Employment form: full time
Number of available posts: 1
Type of employment contract: 24-month fixed-term employment agreement /indefinite term employment agreement*
Academic discipline: architecture and urban planning (concerns research posts and research and teaching posts)
1. Key requirements:
- master of Engineering (Architecture) degree required;
- obtaining significant achievements during studies or having experience in the implementation of scientific and research works or publication achievements in the field of engineering and technical sciences;
- professional architectural and urban experience as an assistant designer;
- pedagogical preparation or completing it in the first year of employment;
- fluency in English.
2. Additional requirements:
- scientific and research, didactic or practical experience in the field of urban design and spatial planning;
- experience in didactic work: conducting project and training groups in Polish and English;
- experience in the implementation of scientific and research works and publishing achievements in the form of highly scored articles (articles with high scores from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education - indexed in the SCOPUS and Web of Science databases);
- knowledge of German at the minimum level of B1 confirmed by a language certificate.
- cooperation in the preparation of applications for research projects obtained under national and foreign competitions;
- experience in teamwork and cooperation with foreign institutions, organizations and universities;
- knowledge of MS Office software, as well as graphic and specialized software: AutoCAD, Archicad, Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator), Lumion;
- identifying the disciplines of architecture and town planning as a discipline of their research;
- placing the affiliation of the Cracow University of Technology WA in the candidate's publications.
3. Key responsibilties:
- teaching classes and offering consultations to students—contact hours as stipulated in the Staff regulations of the CUT;
- active participation in the research work of the unit;
- participation in scientific and didactic seminars;
- active participation in the organizational work of the unit;
- other work ordered by the immediate supervisor;
- participation in proposed training courses for professional development.
4. Required documents:
- application to the Rector;
- detailed CV (taking into account the history of previous employment);
- photocopies of documents confirming education;
- photocopies of other documents confirming the qualifications or acquired skills;
- declaration of completing the pedagogical course in the first year of employment or a certificate of completion thereof;
- certificate or other attestation confirming the knowledge of the German language at the level of at least B1;
- list of achievements, major publications and unpublished works, and other documents that may have an impact on employment;
- personal questionnaire (to be downloaded from the PK website - the Praca na PK tab).
The winning candidate shall be employed after the conclusion of the competition procedure, based on:
- an analysis of submitted documentation,
- an interview (either in person or via online communications software).
Planned start of employment: 01.12.2021
The required documents should be submitted in a folder at the Faculty of Architecture Dean’s office, 1 Podchorążych Street, room 04 or 18 between 8.00 – 14.00. The documents must be submitted no later than 10.09.2021
Competition conclusion date: before 20.09.2021
The Cracow University of Technology reserves the right to contact the candidates whose applications meet necessary criteria and who shall receive the highest ratings by the Recruitment Commission. Information about the competition’s results shall be published at the Public Information Bulletin website of the CUT and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Submitted documents shall be made available for retrieval at Faculty of Architecture Dean’s office, 1 Podchorążych Street, room 04 or 18 between 8.00-14.00. Documents that will not be retrieved within this period shall be destroyed.
